Kaloor Cofi was a Jedi Knight during the time of the Separatist crisis of the Old Republic. A Separatist movement was sweeping the Republic and the millennia old governing body found many planets and systems seceding from its influence. Additionally, many planets were torn apart between feuding groups of those calling for secession and those wishing to stay loyal to the Republic. One such planet was that of Antar 4, the Gotal homeworld.

A militant branch of the Gotal Assembly for Separation, calling themselves the Roshu Sune, terrorists responsible for the brutal Battle of Antar 4 during the Gotal holiday, New Years Fete Week, struck again with the hijacking of a commuter transport on the planet of Atzerri. Although the transport held 25 passengers, the terrorists' target was the Gotal emissary Nathanjo Nirrelz, who was on Atzerri conducting a diplomatic mission.

Taking the transport to a temporary base in the swamps of the planet. There, the Gotal terrorists issued their only statement, demanding that Antar 4 sign the Articles of Secession and having their homeworld officially secede from the Republic. In response to the terrorists, the Jedi Council dispatched a taskforce led by Jedi Knight Sarrissa Jeng to negotiate with the Gotals. Among the other Jedi chosen to attend the mission were Antyard-Wo Shissan, Kerrshnek, and none other than Kaloor Cofi.
